Session (2024-25)

The Department of Fashion Designing of Dasmesh Girls,Chak Alla Baksh,Mukerian, under the guidance of Managing Committee and Principal Dr. Karmjeet kaur and Mrs. Poonam Sharma, Head of PG Department of Fashion Designing organized an Industrial Visit and Departmental Trip for the students. The student visited two Places one for Industry Visit and second is Rangla Punjab & Haveli at Jalandhar.The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with Practical exposure to Textile Science and Garment Constitution on 17th April 2025 Thursday.
The students were accompanied by Mrs Poonam Sharma and Ms. Daljeet Kaur during the visit. The students visited
Marc Export , Garment Manufacturing Industry, at Ludhiana, where students gained insights into manufacturing unit of Garment Constitution ,where students observed and learned about step by step Garment Construction Techniques.
Sustainable fashion From best out of waste ONE WEEK WORKSHOP CUM HANDS ON TRAINING SESSION conducted from 10 March, 2025-16 March, 2025 in collaboration with IIC.
On 8 march 2025, The Fashion Designing department of Dasmesh girls college, Mukerian conducted a One -day Market survey visit to jalandhar. Total 23 students (Bsc Fashion Design) of the department joined this visit along with Faculty members Mrs. Poonam sharma(HOD)Ms Daljeet Kaur. Students explored different clothing brands in various markets of Jalandhar . Principal Dr Karamjit Kaur appreciated the efforts of department for conducting such visit which helps the students to create their projects in fruitful manner.
Fashion Design Department organized DRAPE DRESS COMPETITION on the occasion of Basant Panchami on 1 feb 2025. Bsc fd final year students Esha got First prize; Tisha Second & Manjeet Kaur stood third by draping their best dresses.
Department of Fashion Designing and Fine arts in Collaboration with National Education Trust of India has organized a Diwali Exhibition on 28- 30th October,2024. Mr. J.P Singh, Block Forest Officer, Mukerian has graced the occasion. In this event students have come up with many handmade Food & Decorative items related to Diwali occasion. The Resource Person has appreciated the efforts of students and wished them good luck for their future in the field of Entrepreneurship.

Rakhi Exhibition On 16 August 2024 Fashion Design Department of Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh Mukerian organized a * Rakhi Exhibition* in the college premises under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur & under the headship of Mrs Poonam Sharma, Hod of Fashion Design Department with the efforts of her department arranged this exhibition. Students Designed Different Handmade Rakhies & Rakhi Gift Hampers. Three students whose designed best Rakhi platters appreciated with Certificates .The teachers and students of the college bought these luminous bundles of joy. Principal ma’am appreciated the efforts of the HOD Mrs Poonam Sharma and the faculty members Mrs Akwinder Kaur , Ms Daljeet Kaur .

On 29 April,2024 The Fashion Designing department of Dasmesh girls college, Mukerian conducted a One-day Industrial Visit to Noorpur Silk Mills, HimachalPradesh.Total 30 students(B.sc Fashion Design & BA.Elective Fashion Design)of the department joined this visit along with faculty members Mrs.Poonam Sharma(HOD)Mrs Akwinder Kaur and Ms.Daljeet Kaur.
On 2 March 2024 ANNUAL Exibition Cum Sale arranged by Fashion Design Department on auspicious occasion of Holi Festival . To represent Holi Students prepared many articles on Holi theme For example Organizers , Aprons , Cushions , T shirt Painting , Dupattas etc.
Dining Table Mat & Runner Making Activity By Bsc FD Final year B.a Final year Students Designed Recycled Dress from different waste Fab scraps To give the message of Sustainability .
Fashion designing department of Dasmesh Girls College conducted a market survey for B. SC Fashion Designing Students on 26Feb.2024 in Model Down Market Jalandhar. Students gain a lot of knowledge about various display materials and installation and different kind of storage displays.
On 8 Feb 2024 Informative knowledge about different types of knitting machines was given to the students of Fashion BSc Fashion Designing Department by an industrial expert. Students were given detailed information about Flat bed Knitting Machine and Circular Knitting machines.
ADVANCED PATTERN MAKING Activity cum competition Organized by Fashion Department.Students showed their full enthusiasm towards Activities session.

‘Asees Riti Riwaz’ Fashion Show

The Fashion Designing Department of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian, in collaboration with Earn While Learn Committee, IIC, and VLCC, organized a fashion show titled ‘Asees Riti Riwaz’ under the leadership of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur Brar. The event aimed to showcase students’ designs from a commercial perspective.

Dignitaries, including social workers, school principals, police officials, VLCC representatives, and students’ families, attended. The program began with a Shabad recital and a green welcome ceremony. Judges evaluated students’ handmade outfits in various categories, recognizing winners in One-Piece, Designer Collection, Top Round, Tie & Dye, Nightwear, Gown, Saree, Indo-Western, and Sustainable Fashion themes. Alumni and faculty members also participated, with prizes awarded for the Best Model Competition and a special Teachers’ Fashion Round.

The event promoted sustainability by encouraging the reuse of materials like jute, plastic, and old fabrics. Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur thanked the VLCC team, organizers, and guests, while Chairman Sardar Ravinder Singh Chak and the Educational Trust congratulated the Fashion Department team for their efforts, encouraging future initiatives.
