The Department of Fashion Designing Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian, successfully organized a Fashion Show showcasing creativity, culture, and the remarkable talent of its students and alumni on 17^th Apr 2026.

The event provided a vibrant platform to display innovative designs while celebrating the rich heritage of Indian textiles and contemporary fashion.

The programmed was graced by esteemed judges Ms. Karina Plaha, Ms. Sumandeep Kaur, Ms. Narinder Kaur, and Ms. Jyotsana Manhas. The enthusiastic participation of the college alumni added great value to the event. Their presence inspired the students, strengthened the bond between the institution and its alumni, and reflected the department’s continued commitment to nurturing successful professionals in the field of fashion designing. The college secured First Position in the State Round, with students winning prizes in various categories, including Collection, Retro, Banaras, Khadi, and Dance. Jasmeet Kaur was declared the Best Model. The event beautifully portrayed the fusion of Indian tradition with modern fashion trends.

Crocheting and Knitting Craft Exhibition-cum-Sale on 6^th February 2026

The Department of Fashion Designing, Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian, under the aegis of IQAC, successfully organized a Crocheting and Knitting Craft Exhibition-cum-Sale on 6^th February 2026 in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Earn While Learn & Development Cell, and the Alumni Association.

A wide range of handcrafted products, including knitted scarves, woollen crochet hair accessories, crochet keychains, crochet bouquets and flowers, decorative items, woollen caps and scarves, and many other crochet products, were displayed and offered for sale. The exhibits, prepared by both students and alumni, reflected exceptional creativity, craftsmanship, and dedication. Visitors highly appreciated the quality, uniqueness, and artistic value of the handmade products.

Zero Plastic Skill & Entrepreneurship Mela was organized by Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian, at 6^th October 2025. on the occasion of Diwali under the theme “Let’s Celebrate Green & Grateful.”

The Departments of Fashion Designing, Fine Arts, and SAP (Energy Cell), in collaboration with the Alumni Association, jointly organized the event to promote eco-friendly celebrations, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
Students and alumni actively participated by displaying and selling handmade, sustainable products, traditional attire, handcrafted accessories, decorative items, and festive creations. Their enthusiastic involvement inspired students, encouraged entrepreneurial thinking, and promoted the concept of a Zero Plastic Diwali. The SAP (Energy Cell) also created awareness about celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali by encouraging the use of earthen lamps and discouraging the use of firecrackers. Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur appreciated the efforts of the students, alumni, and faculty members for making the event a meaningful celebration that promoted sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility.

Teej Festival Celebration with Alumnis at Dasmesh Girls College

The vibrant festival of Teej was celebrated with great enthusiasm and success at Dasmesh Girls College. The occasion was marked by the active participation of the Alumni Association of the College, who not only attended the event but also showcased their talents through traditional Bhand performances and took charge of the stage with excellent anchoring. Their presence added immense charm and nostalgia to the celebration, strengthening the bond between the alumni and their alma mater.
On this joyous occasion, the college was graced by the presence of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur, Vice Principal Dr. Sonia Devi, Dr. Akanksha Verma, Ms. Poonam, Ms. Monika, along with all staff members. Their encouragement and support made the event more memorable and lively.
The program reflected the rich cultural heritage and traditions associated with Teej, offering a platform to the students and alumni to come together in celebration. The event not only highlighted the festive spirit but also reinforced the significance of maintaining strong connections with the alumni community.
The celebration concluded on a joyous note, leaving behind cherished memories for everyone present.
