Eco Club /Greenery Committee of Dasmesh Girls College,Chak Alla Baksh,Mukerian has celebrated “Save Environment Week” under Environment Education Programme from 28th may to 5th June,2024.

Action taken report

Members of the mention committee visited local nurseries for the purchase of ornamental plants as well as sapling of seasonal plants. These plants were planted in front of general office and trust room . Sapling were planted at various places in college.Under the Community Enrichment program members of SAP committee visited various School during 12th December 2022 to 27th December 2022 .Around 30 shady trees word planted in the schools. Eco club under SAP committee of Dasmesh Girls College Mukerian, established aHerbalgardeninthecollegeon 03- SEPT 2022under thevaluableguidanceofPrincipalDr.KaramjitKaur Brar. 17 Herbal medicinal plants were planted in our botanical garden. Thisoccasion was graced by Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur herself along with Mrs. NeenaRishi ,Dr.Akanksha,Ms.Monica,Ms.Damini,Ms.Kuldeepandwithstudents.

ECO CLUB ORGANISED AN EXTENTION LECTURE ON VERMI COMPOSTING

Eco Club under SAP committee of Dasmesh Girls College Mukerian, under the valuable guidance of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur Brar has organised and extension lecture on verming composting on 20th sept 2022. Ms. Kiran Kumari from botany department was the resource person of this talk in her lecture. Madam Kiran shared all the necessary details for the establishment of vermi composting unit with the present .This occasion was graced by Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur herself along with Mrs. Neena Rishi , Ms. Monica ,Dr. Akanksha, , Ms. Damini ,Ms. Kuldeep and with students.

Plant Ownership Programme

During the session 2022-23 on the date on 20th, sept 2022 under the initiative of Greenery committee of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian, Plant ownership Program has started , under this Program 10 students adopted various plants. Students gave assurance by signed a Self Declaration form to take care the plants with full dedication till they will study here.This occasion was graced by Principal Dr. KaramjitKaur herself along with Mrs. NeenaRishi,Mrs.Monica and withstudents.

It’s a reminder of our collective responsibility to preserve and cherish our planet.

Celebrated "Practice of zero waste Habbit"

Eco club greenery committee of Dasmesh Girls College Mukerian distributed nearly 35 cuttings of Hibiscus ,Jade , Asparagus and Syngonium in collaboration with the students of Eco- Club on 6th October 2023. Mrs Neena Rishi and Ms. Monica as members of this club also educated the students how to implant these cuttings and how to further take care of these plants. This initiative has been taken under the direction of Respected Principal Dr. Karamjeet Kaur . At this event Mrs. Neena Rishi, Mrs. Monica and 50 students were present.

Eco Club / Greenery Committee of Dasmesh Girls College Mukerian,in collaboration with Botany Department organised an Extension lecture on Mushroom cultivation.

Eco club members in collaboration with Botany Department organised an Extension lecture on mushroom cultivation. Resource person of the event was Dr. Lakhbir singh , Harticulture Development officer, Department of Harticulture , Punjab. Students of Eco-Club attended the lecture and gained sufficient knowledge for mushroom cultivation. This lecture was organised on 6th October 2023 in Botany Department at 11:00am. Members of Eco club, Mrs Neena Rishi, Mrs Monica and 50 students were also present along with Biology Department faculty.
