Session 2025-26

An International Seminar on “Social and Economic Impact of Women’s Education” was successfully organized at Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Bakhsh, Mukerian by the Women Development Cell in collaboration with the PG Department of Commerce and Management, Department of Education, and Research and Development Cell under the joint aegis of IQAC and IIC.

The program began with the recitation of Shabad, followed by a welcome address by Principal Dr. Karamjeet Kaur, who highlighted the importance of women’s education in social and economic development. The Chief Guest, Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, PCS (Assistant Commissioner, Hoshiarpur), emphasized that educating women leads to the empowerment of entire generations.

The Keynote Speaker, Dr. Kulwant Singh Rana (Associate Professor and Head, Department of Punjabi, DAV College, Hoshiarpur) spoke about the role of women in achieving social equality and sustainable development. Special Guest Mrs. Kiranpreet Kaur Dhami (Principal, Guru Harkrishan Public Senior Secondary School, Pandori Khajoor) motivated students to achieve success through dedication and hard work. Resource Person S. Sardul Singh Thiara (President, Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada) highlighted that empowering women through education strengthens families and society. The seminar was summarized by Dr. Vinay Kumar (Principal, DAV College, Hoshiarpur).

In the concluding remarks, Mrs. Sukhwinder Kaur (Chairperson, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Educational Charitable Trust) expressed gratitude to the guests and emphasized the importance of women’s education for the overall development of society. The program was anchored by Dr. Sukhwinder Kaur (Assistant Professor, Department of Punjabi) and concluded with the National Anthem.

The Chairman of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Educational Charitable Trust, S. Ravinder Singh Chak, along with the trust members, appreciated Principal Dr. Karamjeet Kaur, Program Coordinator Dr. Sonia Devi, Dr. Sarita Rana, Dr. Maninderjit Kaur, Dr. Sukhwinder Kaur, and the organizing team including Mrs. Neha, Ms. Swaran, and Mrs. Kritika for successfully conducting the seminar.

 

 

People’s Walk Against Drugs-3 was held by Dasmesh Girls College,Mukerian in collaboration with Punjab Lit Foundation and District Administration Mukerian on 23 February,2026. Hon’ble Governor of Punjab #Sh_Gulab_Chand_Kataria led this ‘Anti-Drug Foot March’ .
The theme of this Foot March was ‘Mothers Against Drugs’ .The March witnessed large-scale participation from political, administrative, social, and religious organizations, along with students, traders, NGOs, and citizens, taking the shape of a mass movement.
The March began at the Tehsil Complex, Mukerian, led by an NCC band. Balloons were released and a torch lit by sports personalities symbolized the anti-drug fight.
The Students of the College, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, Red Ribbon Club members, VDC and Civil Defence volunteers formed a human chain promoting a drug-free society. The three-kilometer March concluded at Dashmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh.
On this occasion, #Shivi_Shivay Welfare Society presented a street play highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse in a powerful manner.
In his address, the hon’ble Governor #Shri_Gulab_Chand_Kataria stated that drug abuse weakens society, families, and the future of youth. He urged every citizen to stand united against the menace of drugs and actively support the government’s initiatives. He expressed confidence that with sustained public participation and collective determination, the “War Against Drugs” campaign will pave the way for a healthier, stronger, and drug-free Punjab.

The Women Development Cell of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian, in collaboration with NGO A4C Dasuya, successfully organized an International Seminar on “Women Achievers Inspiring the Next Generation” on September 24, 2025.

The program began with a candle-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the light of knowledge, followed by the felicitation of distinguished guests. The seminar was honored by the presence of Ms. Oishee (IAS, Assistant Commissioner, Hoshiarpur) and Dr. Ankur Mahendru (PCS, SDM Mukerian) as Chief Guests, who highlighted the vital contribution of women to societal growth and encouraged the young generation to draw strength from women achievers.

Mr. Naveen Aggarwal (renowned social worker and MD, Jagdambay Furnaces Ltd.) graced the event as Special Guest, emphasizing that women’s empowerment and education are the pillars of a progressive nation. Esteemed Resource Persons, Dr. Vidhi Bhalla (Principal, DAV College of Education, Hoshiarpur) and Ms. Ishita Rishi (Oxford University, UK), inspired students with their scholarly insights, motivating them to harness their talents for personal success and social development.

Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur Brar, Convener of the seminar, warmly welcomed the guests, while Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, President of A4C Dasuya, expressed gratitude. Special appreciation was extended to Coordinator Dr. Sonia Chauhan and her dedicated team, whose efforts ensured the seminar’s resounding success.

Session 2023-24

  • Women development cell in collaboration with self Help Group, Budhhabar organised an awareness program on “ Menstrual Hygiene “ on 13-05-2024 in which resource person Dr Seema jhangi shared an informative knowledge to the students.

    Sanskriti Sansthan Uthan Nyas Organized Extension Lecture on the Topic ”Inspire Inclusion” on 6th March 2024,on the occasion of International Women’s Day in which resource person Dr.Nitya Sharma,Deputy Controller I.K.G.P.T.U. Kapurthala,shared her views and influenced the students for igniting their self-Respect.
  • Women Development Cell of Dasmesh Girls College organised Wealth Awareness and Money Management Programme for Working Women’s with collaboration of HSBC (Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited)on dated 20/7/2023. Trainer Ms. Anju Jain give valuable knowledge about how women can invest their money in right way and how can they managed it for their future.

Session 2022-23

  • Celebrated International Women’s day.
  • A National level Seminar on the Topic , “Women Empowerment in India on 21st Century – A Journey Just Begun” organized by Women Development Cell on dated 27-2-2023.  with collaboration Awakening Civil consciousness Among Common Citizen (Regd.), NGO, Dasuya in which Ms. Komal Mittal, DC Hoshiarpur was the Chief Guest.

 Session-2021-22

  1. An Online Extension Lecture on the topic “Managing Healthy Lifestyle” on Dated 07-03-2022 to celebrate Womens Day. The guest Speaker was Dr. Harshinder Kaur From Medical Government College, Patiala.  She talked about Women Empowerment and Gave valuable Knowledge about How to live healthy Life.
  2. Women Development Cell of the College Collaborated with NGO called Sanskriti Shiksha Uthan Nyas to organise an online extension Lecture on Women Empowerment- India’s Vision In Global Perspective dated 14 Jan 2022. Dr. Nitiya Sharma from SSUN, Deputy Controller from I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala was the facilitator of this Extension Lecture Along with Dr. Nirottama Sharma from Malwa Central College of Education, Ludhinaa. Dr. Deepa Kauts, Prof in Education (HOD) GNDU Amritsar was the Resource Person of this Lecture. She explained to the students about women revolution from ancient to present time.
  3. Women Development Celll of the College Collaborated with NGO called Sanskriti Shiksha Uthan Nyas to organise an online extension Lecture on Self Defence dated 27 July 2021. Dr. Nitiya Sharma from SSUN, Deputy Controller from I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala was the facilitator of this Extension Lecture Along with Dr. Nirottama Sharma from Malwa Central College of Education, Ludhinaa. Dr. Pratibha Singh, Member of Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights was the Resource Person of this Lecture.

Session 2020-21

 Extension Lecture on Concept of Health for Female organised by Women Cell on Dated 28-02-2021. Dr. Manpreet Dhaliwal , BHMS(Pb) Abohar was the resource person of this Lecture. Dr. Dhaliwal concluded the extension lecture by saying that only a Healthy female can bring positive changes in the Society and well being of their female members so that a better India can be made.

Session 2019-20

  • Extension Lecture on the theme Women’s Empowerment organised by Women Development Cell to celebrate Women’s Day on dated 07-03-2020. Two Resource persons  Advocate Ms. Balwinder Kaur and Ms. Surinder  Kaur  enlightened the students with their  valuable thoughts on Women empowerment.

 

Session 2018-19

  • Extension lecture on the theme Women’s Safety and their Constitutional Right organised by women Development Cell on Dated 13-03-2019. Two resource Person were Advocate Mr. Rajiv Agnihotri and Advocate S.  Balwinder Singh (Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh.
