The Research Development Cell and the Department of History at Dasmesh Girls College, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur, organized a one-day National Workshop on “Research Promotion Schemes for Faculty” on 22 March. 2025.
Prof. Sanjeev Sharma (Director, IQAC, UIAMS, PU Chandigarh) was the resource person for the event. The workshop, which began with a Shabad recitation, aimed to educate faculty members on research proposals, key aspects of NEP 2020, and the registration process for MOOC courses.
Prof. Sharma concluded the session by addressing faculty queries. A vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Monica Sharma (Department of Commerce) and Dr. Sarita Rana (Head, Department of History), who also appreciated Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur for her continuous support.
The event concluded with the recitation of the National Anthem.

- Department of History organized One Day National Seminar on the topic “ Socio-Religious Reform Movement during Medieval and Modern Punjab sponsored by ICSSR , Northern Western Regional Centre, P. U, Chandigarh on 9 March 2024.In this Seminar Prof.Anju Suri, Director, MMTC, Panjab University, Chandigarh read out the Keynote Address to be Followed by Resource Persons Retd,Prof. Jigar Mohammad,Jammu University,Jammu. Dr. Manu Sharma, HOD,Department of History,GNDU,Amritsar and Dr. Manwindra Singh,HOD Deptt of History, Public Administration and Sociology,Lovely University, Phagwara.S.Ravinder Singh Chak, Chairman,Sri Guru Gobind Singh Educational Charitable Trust, member of S.G.P.C, Sri Amritsar, welcomed all the dignitaries. All these distinguished speakers shed the light upon the role, objectives,activities, contributions and impact of Socio-Religious movements on the society.The Seminar ended with the vote of thanks by the Principal, Dr.Karamjit Kaur who applauded the scholars for their intellectual acumen. The seminar successfully completed with efforts of Dr.Sarita Rana,Co-ordinator, Dr. Maninder Kaur, Organising Secretary and organising team Mrs.Satwant Kaur and Mrs. Neeraj.
- Department of History of Dasmesh Girls College organised Declamation competition on the topic “Women in Freedom Struggle of India “on dated 7 August to 8 August 2023. Total 60 students participated in this competition.
Arshiya sharma (BA/bed2nd year )got 1st position , Kajal (BA 2nd year )got 2nd position and Kashish Sharma(B.A/Bed 2nd year) 3rd position in this competition. Dr. Sarita Rana (HOD) and Dr. Maninder Kaur conducted this activity successfully.

- P.G. Department of History in collaboration with Department of Youth Welfare Panjab university Chandigarh to celebrate 400th birth anniversary of guru Teg Bahadur has organised an online slogan writing competition dated 22 August 2020. Students from different colleges of Panjab University participated in the competition.
- P.G. Department of History in collaboration with Department of Youth Welfare Panjab university Chandigharh to celebrate 400th birth anniversary of guru Teg Bhadur has organised an online webinar on dated 20 May 2021. Assistant Professor. Lakhvir Singh from Dasmesh Khalsa College , Muktsar was the guest speaker in the webniar.
