The Research Development Cell and the Department of History at Dasmesh Girls College, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur, organized a one-day National Workshop on “Research Promotion Schemes for Faculty” on 22 March. 2025.
Prof. Sanjeev Sharma (Director, IQAC, UIAMS, PU Chandigarh) was the resource person for the event. The workshop, which began with a Shabad recitation, aimed to educate faculty members on research proposals, key aspects of NEP 2020, and the registration process for MOOC courses.
Prof. Sharma concluded the session by addressing faculty queries. A vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Monica Sharma (Department of Commerce) and Dr. Sarita Rana (Head, Department of History), who also appreciated Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur for her continuous support.
The event concluded with the recitation of the National Anthem.

An International Conference on “Ethical Responsibilities in Today’s World
An International Conference on “Ethical Responsibilities in Today’s World“* was held on February 28, 2025, at the Multipurpose Hall of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian in Collaboration with Punjabi Jagat Sabha, Canada. The event aimed to highlight the importance of ethical responsibilities in various aspects of life and profession. It was attended by distinguished speakers, scholars, and students from different educational institutions. The conference began with a registration session where attendees registered their participation and received materials related to the seminar. The inaugural session was conducted by *Dr. Karamjeet Kaur, Principal* of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian. She delivered the welcome speech, emphasizing the need for ethical values in today’s fast-paced world. Principal *Dr. Karamjeet Kaur* extended special gratitude to *S. Ravinder Singh Chak ji, Chairman of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Educational Trust (Ch.), for his invaluable support and patronage, which played a crucial role in making the conference a grand success. She emphasized that his encouragement and guidance have been instrumental in fostering academic and research excellence at the institution. A significant milestone of the conference was the signing of a *Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian, and Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada. This collaboration aims to enhance academic exchange, research initiatives, and cultural enrichment programs between the two institutions.During conference ,the keynote address was delivered by *S. Ajaib Singh Chatha, Chairman of Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada*. He discussed the growing ethical challenges in various fields and stressed the role of education in instilling moral values.
This session included thought-provoking discussions by various eminent speakers:
– *Dr. Vinay Kumar, Principal, DAV College, Hoshiarpur*, spoke about the importance of ethics in leadership and governance.
– *Dr. Varinder Kaur, Principal, GTB College, Dasuya*, highlighted ethical dilemmas in education and ways to address them.
– *Dr. Kulwant Rana, Associate Professor, DAV College, Hoshiarpur*, focused on professional ethics and the responsibilities of educators.
– *Prof. Dilsherbir Singh, Dept. of English, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Sri Anandpur Sahib*, discussed ethics in literature and how moral themes shape human behavior.
Each speaker provided a unique perspective on ethical responsibilities, making the discussion enriching and insightful. During the conference, a special book release ceremony was conducted for “Historical Analysis -1”, authored by Dr. Sarita Rana, Head of the PG Department of History. The book was unveiled in the presence of esteemed dignitaries and participants, marking a significant academic contribution. The vote of thanks was delivered by *S. Sardul Singh Thiara, President of Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers and the engaging participation of all attendees. The event ended with a discussion session, allowing participants to interact. The stage proceedings were conducted by *Ms. Monica, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. The event encouraged meaningful discussions, leaving attendees with a deeper understanding of ethics in today’s world. Principal Dr. Karamjeet Kaur appreciated the dedication, coordination, and enthusiasm of Coordinators – Dr. Sarita Rana and Dr. Maninderjit Kaur , Organizing Committee – Dr. Reena Kumari, Dr. Sonia Chauhan, Ms. Poonam, and Ms. Monica for their dedicated efforts in planning and executing this event seamlessly.
