National Unity Day Celebration | Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
NSS volunteers of Dasmesh girls college Mukerian celebrate National Unity Day — honoring the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India! 💪✨
🕊️ the day began with the Unity Pledge, reaffirming our commitment to a strong and united India.
💬 A meaningful discussion followed on the importance of unity and integrity, inspired by Sardar Patel’s vision.
🤝 Students then formed a beautiful Unity Sign, symbolizing harmony and togetherness.
🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ Our vibrant Unity Day Rally spread the message of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” across the campus.
📸 The event concluded with a proud group photo in front of the official government Unity Day banner!

The NSS UnitDasmesh Girls Collegeof celebrated NSS Day on 24thSeptember 2025 in collaboration with JBKCM SR SC School , Mukerian with great zeal and active participation from the volunteers.

As part of the celebrations, a cleanliness drive was organized under the banner of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Around 50 NSS volunteers visited the adopted village Mohiuddinpur and undertook cleanliness activities at the Government Elementary Smart School. The volunteers cleaned the campus, watered the plants, and maintained the garden, thereby promoting awareness on hygiene, greenery, and environmental care.

In the second session, an International Seminar on “Women Achievers: Inspiring the Next Generation” was held. The seminar was graced by Ms. Oishee Mandal (IAS, Assistant Commissioner, Hoshiarpur) and Mr. AnkurMahendru (SDM, Hoshiarpur) as the Chief Guests. The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of Mr. Sanjiv Kumar (Organizing Secretary, President NGO A4C Dasuya) and Dr.Karamjit Kaur (Principal, Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian).

Manav Seva Sankalp Divas

On 19th September 2025, the NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian organized an Extension Lecture to mark Manav Seva Sankalp Divas, observed as the death anniversary of Bhai Kanaiya Ji.

The resource person of the lecture was Dr. Sarita, who enlightened the students about the significance of the day and highlighted the selfless service and humanitarian contributions of Bhai Kanaiya Ji. She emphasized the values of compassion, humility, and service to mankind that Bhai Kanaiya Ji dedicated his life to.

The event inspired the students to follow the path of humanity and selfless service.

Awareness Against Drug Addiction 🚭

Red Ribbon Club & NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College, in collaboration with Shivalik Hills Welfare Society, organized an Extension Lecture on 16 Sept 2025.
 
Speakers – Dr. Satvir Singh (Psychiatrist), Mr. Davinder Singh (Social Activist) & Shri Amarjeet Hamrol (Former Secretary, Red Cross) – inspired students to say NO to drugs and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

🏅 National Sports Day Celebration 🏅On 29 August, 2025.

The NSS volunteers of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian enthusiastically observed National Sports Day from their homes, as work-from-home arrangements are currently in place in the region due to the flood situation. 🌊💪

NSS Volunteers Shine at National Level Training! 🌟

NSS volunteers Ms. Disha and Ms. Simran Kaur of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian successfully participated in the Capacity Building Programme on Youth Employability Skills held from 26th to 29th August 2025 at RGNIYD, Regional Centre, Chandigarh, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.

This achievement was made possible through the collaboration of the NSS Unit and the Start-Up Cell of the College, under the coordination of Ms. Shikha Sharma.

Under the visionary guidance of our respected Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur, the college continues to empower students with opportunities that enhance employability, leadership, and holistic development. 💫

 

✨ International Youth Day 2025 Celebration at Dasmesh Girls College ✨🌍

The NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College, under the guidance of Principal #Dr_Karamjit_Kaur, celebrated International Youth Day on 12th August 2025 with great enthusiasm. The day was filled with inspiring activities that empowered youth and highlighted their role in building a better future.
🎨 Skill Development Workshop – In collaboration with the Fine Arts Department, students explored creative art, craft-making, and entrepreneurial applications of fine arts.
🤝 Pledge Ceremony – NSS volunteers and students pledged to foster unity, innovation, sustainability, and civic responsibility.
💡 Motivational Lecture – NSS volunteer Ms. Tanisha Patial inspired students with her talk on “The Role of Youth in Emerging Indian Society: Innovation & Entrepreneurship” – encouraging creativity, initiative, and nation-building.
 

The NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian, in collaboration with Shri Shivi Shivay Society, Talwara, organized a series of activities from 5th to 8th August 2025 to promote environmental awareness, patriotism, and community service.

  • Day 1 (5th Aug): Tree Plantation in College Premises – Under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, NSS volunteers planted saplings across the campus to encourage environmental conservation.

  • Day 2 (6th Aug): Tree Plantation in Adopted Village – Volunteers conducted another plantation drive at Ramgarh Kullian, spreading awareness about greenery and sustainability.

  • Day 3 (7th Aug): Patriotic Rally on Azadi Ka Maha Utsav – A rally with slogans, placards, and community involvement highlighted national pride and the struggle for independence.

  • Day 4 (8th Aug): Poster Making & Wall Painting – A Poster Competition on “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and Independence Day themes was held with the Fine Arts Department. Volunteers also painted walls at DSP Office Mukerian and Rest House Mukerian with social and patriotic messages.

Special Event: NSS volunteers participated in an Online Quiz on the National Flag of India organized by the Ministry of India, enhancing their knowledge and respect for the tricolour.

The four-day program successfully fostered environmental responsibility, patriotic spirit, and civic engagement among students and the community.

 

Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebration at Dasmesh Girls College

Under the guidance of My Bharat Hoshiarpur and in collaboration with Shiva Shivay Society Talwara, Dasmesh Girls College proudly organized a commemorative event to mark Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July 2025. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 100 students, including NSS volunteers who actively took part in speech and poem recitation competitions dedicated to the bravery of Indian soldiers.
The college had the honour of welcoming S. Satpal Singh, a Kargil war veteran, as the chief guest. He inspired the students by sharing his first-hand experiences from the battlefield, instilling patriotism and respect for the armed forces.
As part of the event’s green initiative, 11 saplings were planted to symbolize peace and remembrance.
Mr. Gagan Rana and Mr. Rohit Kashyap from Shiva Shivay Society, Principal Dr. Karamjeet Kaur, and NSS Program Officer Ms. Shikha Sharma also addressed the students, spreading awareness about the significance of the Kargil War and paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
 
 

NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College Organizes Poster Making Competition under Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan

The NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College organized a Poster Making Competition on 21st July 2025 under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan. The event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug addiction and to encourage youth to take a stand for a drug-free India.
 
NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically and conveyed strong anti-drug messages through their creative and impactful posters. In addition to the competition, the volunteers also recorded video messages promoting the message of a drug-free life, which were shared on various social media platforms to reach a wider audience and inspire collective action among the youth.
 
The Principal and faculty members appreciated the efforts of the NSS unit and encouraged students to continue contributing to social awareness campaigns with the same spirit and dedication.

I, Shikha Sharma, NSS Program Officer at Dasmesh Girls College, am pleased to submit a report on my participation in the three-day training program on “Women Leadership and Disaster Risk Reduction” held from 1st July to 3rd July 2025 at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Punjab.
 
Objective of the Training:
 
The training was aimed at empowering women leaders with the knowledge, skills, and tools to effectively participate in and lead disaster risk reduction (DRR) initiatives. It also focused on building leadership capacities among women involved in community services and promoting gender-inclusive disaster preparedness and response.
