NSS 2024-25

The NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian organised World AIDSDay on theme “Take the rights path: My health, my right” on 1st December, 2024. An awareness lecture was organized at G.S.S. School, Dhanoa, with active participation from both faculty and students.
The lecture was graced by Dr. Maninderjit Kaur and Ms. Satwant Kaur, who shared valuable insights about HIV/AIDS, its causes, prevention, and the importance of spreading awareness. The discussion emphasized the need to eliminate the stigma associated with the condition and encouraged everyone to support individuals living with HIV.Students also engaged in the session actively, showcasing their interest in promoting health and awareness in the community.

Constitution Day

26th November, 2024

TheNSS Unit celebrated Constitution Day on 26th November, 2024. The Constitution Day’ celebrated to promote the Constitution values among citizens.On this day a pledgewas taken to uphold justice, equality, and freedom for all. Indian Constitution Daycelebratedby conducting DeclamationCompetitionon various topics that explains the Importance of Constitution, Indian Polity & Constitution, Importance of Elections, Gender Equality- A Myth or Reality in India & the Role of DR. B.R. Ambedakar .Moreover, Ms. Navdeep Kaur and Ms. Rajni also gave awareness lecture on Indian Constitution Day, let’s honour the vision and values that define our democracy. It serves as a reminder of the fundamental principles outlined in the Indian Constitution and the significance of preserving democratic values.

The NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian under the patronage of Dr. Karamjit Kaur, Principal andunder the guidance of Ms. Satwant Kaur ( NSS Program Officer) organised cleanliness drive under the campaign J Diwali with My Bharat from 27th October to 30th October, 2024 at Government Pre – Elementary School and Suvidha Kendra in adopted village Khichian. Moreover, Main Market of Mukerian was also cleaned by volunteers to make the people of city aware about cleanliness. About 50 students participated on this occasion to sensitize the masses about maintaining a clean and green environment.On this occasion Ms. Satwant Kaur. Ms. Surbhi Kundra, Mr. Gagan Rana ( President of Shivi Shivay Welfare Society, Talwara), Sh. Satnam Singh ( Sarpanch of Khichian) were also present.Students also come up an exhibition with many handmade items related to Diwali occasions like decorative Diya’s, decorative flowers, candles, Rangoli etc.

30th October,2024

The NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian under the patronage of Dr. Karamjit Kaur, Principal andunder the guidance of Ms. Satwant Kaur ( NSS Program Officer) organised National Unity Day on 30thOctober,2024. An awareness lecturedelivered by Ms. Renu Gupta to volunteers to recognise the awareness about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution towards India’s Independence and unity. NSS Volunteers also conducted the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge at the Statue of Unity and witnessed the National Unity Day of the nation to pay tribute to Patel. On this occasionMr. J P Singh, blockForest Officer, Mukerian also aware the students regarding their contribution to unity.

17th September to 2nd October,2024

The NSS Wing of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian organised ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa 2024’ Campaign on theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata- Sanskar Swachhta’ organised by My Bharat Hoshiarpur from 17th September to 2nd October,2024. Under the patronage of Dr. Karamjit Kaur Principal and Mrs. Satwant Kaur ( NSS Program Officer)the Swachhta campaign organised at adoptedvillage Khichian. Firstly, a meeting withMunicipal Corporation, Mukerian wasconducted to discuss the various issues like dump, ban on plastic polythene and cleanliness activities on Garbage Free India in local area. The directions were issued bySh. Madan (EO), Sh. Rakesh Kumar, Sh. Vivek Jain, Sh. Naveenon Swachh Bharat Mission – Naya Sankalp on 17th September,2024.
Moreover,the volunteers engaged in various activities in adopted village Khichian at Govt. Pre Elementary School and Community Hall, including scrap disposal, waste collection, collection of plastic bottles and polythene, awareness drives, and promoting eco-friendly.The following activities performed under this campaign.
1. Awareness lecture on Swachhta at Dasmesh Public School by Dr. Ekta.
2. Pledge Ceremony on Swachhta hi Sewa
3. Awareness lecture on No Plastic, No Pollution at KTS School, Shaliya
4. Awareness Lecture by Mrs. Satwant Kaur on less usage of Plastic
5. Rally on Ban of Single Use Plastic in adopted village Khichian
6. Cleaning at Pre elementary School , Khichian
7. Tree Plantation at Govt. Public School, Khichian
8. Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition

24th September ,2024

The NSS department of Punjab University organized a program on the occasion of NSS Foundation Day on 24th September ,2024 in which Punjab University Chandigarh honoured Mrs. Satwant Kaur, Program Officer of NSS wing of Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian by giving her the Award of Appreciation for her excellent work and activities. The award is given to her and her NSS team which has made significant contributions under the guidance of principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur in social service, cleanliness campaign, environmental protection and other social activities. NSS Volunteers have also played an important role in improving the college and its surroundings and in improving the society.

Session 2024-25

NCC Unit of Dasmesh Girls College,Mukerian participated in Independence Day Celebrations on 15th August,2024 held at Arya senior secondary School,Mukerian. The NCC Cadets did March Past and saluted the honourable chief guest of the day.

NCC Enrollment selection for the session 2024 -25 held in Dasmesh Girls College on 27 August 2024 by 12PB BN NCC Hoshiarpur. Many students had given trial for this selection. Selection had been done under the guidance of Subedar Manoj Kumar and Hav.Harvinder Singhof 12 PB BN NCC and Lt Dr Rajwinder kaur (HOD ) Department of physical education.
