The NCC Cadets of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian, secured top honours at the rigorous 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC), held from November 2 to November 11, 2025, at the NCC Training Academy, Malout. Their exceptional discipline and teamwork resulted in a clean sweep of First Positions across various competitions and the capture of all major leadership roles.

Cadet Poonam Jaryal’s win of the ‘Best Cadet’ title is a significant achievement, highlighting her all-round excellence in training and leadership skills. The contingent’s success in securing nearly all first prizes cemented their reputation as a highly trained and formidable team.
Intensive Training Curriculum
The cadets adhered to a demanding schedule designed to build both physical stamina and essential military knowledge. The camp featured:
* Physical Training and Drill : Rigorous early morning PT and specialised drill movements.
* Weapon Training : Hands-on practice with various infantry weapons and intensive firing practice.
* Fieldcraft Skills : Theoretical and practical classes covering Map Reading, Military Symbols, Section Formation, and Communication.
* Essential Subjects : Comprehensive training in Disaster Management, Leadership, and Health & Hygiene.
Cultural Excellence and Unity
Beyond the demanding physical and academic regimen, the Dasmesh Girls College cadets showcased outstanding flair in the evening cultural programme, which is a cornerstone of NCC camps for promoting unity in diversity and emotional integration.
The cadets dominated the cultural competitions by securing top ranks in key events, often including Group Dance, Group Song, and Shabad Gaayan. Their performances highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Punjab and demonstrated creativity, coordination, and enthusiasm, providing a refreshing and engaging break from the intensive daily training. Their success in both the rigorous training and the vibrant cultural sphere underscored the holistic development fostered at the college.
Official Recognition
The college’s efforts received high praise from the camp leadership. On the final day, Colonel Lovedeep Singh Saini, Sena Medal, CO of 12 PB Battalion NCC HSP , officially lauded the dedication and instrumental guidance provided by the ANO, Lieutenant (Dr.) Rajwinder Kaur , acknowledging her role in shaping these disciplined and successful young leaders.

NCC Cadets of Dasmesh Girls College successfully organized an impactful awareness drive focused on the Prime Minister’s ‘Panch Pran’ (Five Resolves) and the nationwide ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign.
The college’s esteemed Associate NCC Officer (ANO), Lieutenant (Dr.) Rajwinder Kaur, enlightened and motivated the cadets by detailing the ‘Panch Pran’—the fundamental pledges for India’s development during the ‘Amrit Kaal’.
During the event, the cadets actively demonstrated their spirit of national pride and duty by participating in poster making and delivering inspirational speeches related to the theme. This initiative underscored the college’s commitment to fostering responsible and patriotic citizens.

Many students had given trial for this selection. The trial consisted of physical fitness test, basic assessment of confidence and leadership qualities. The purpose of the trial was to select eligible and deserving candidates for the NCC unit of the college. Selection process had been completed under the supervision of Subedar Manoj Kumar and Subedar Sanjeev Kumar of 12 PB BN NCC.

The dedication and discipline of our NCC unit shone brightly as the cadets actively participated in the events of the day, which included poster making and declamation. The ANO also highlighted the significance of celebrating National Space Day, inspiring the cadets to take pride in India’s achievements in space exploration.

NCC Unit of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian participated in 79th Independence Day Celebrations on 15th August, 2025 held at Arya senior secondary School, Mukerian. The NCC Cadets did March Past and saluted the honourable chief guest of the day.The NCC unit’s participation was highly appreciated, and the cadets felt immense pride in representing their college on this special occasion.
