About IIC

The Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), established by the Government of India, aims to foster a culture of innovation across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). MIC’s primary objective is to inspire and support young students in transforming their ideas into prototypes.

To achieve this, MIC has initiated the creation of Institution’s Innovation Councils (IICs) within selected HEIs. These councils form a network dedicated to promoting innovation through diverse initiatives, cultivating an ecosystem that encourages creativity and entrepreneurship on campuses.

The Innovation Cell plays a pivotal role in nurturing creative design thinking, particularly in engineering fields. It provides students with a platform to showcase their talents, collaborate on projects, and participate in competitions. By supporting young minds, the cell helps students excel in their specialized areas of interest and contributes to the development of groundbreaking ideas.

The Innovation Cell is committed to fostering a dynamic ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship by:

• Conducting innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities within a structured timeframe.

• Organizing workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions with entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals, while building a strong mentor network for student innovators.

• Establishing collaborations with national entrepreneurship development organizations and peer institutions.

• Creating an Institution’s Innovation Portal to showcase innovative projects by students and faculty.
