Earn While You Learn

Dasmesh Girls College Introduced The Programmed Namely “Earn While You Learn Scheme” In Session 20021-22. For Making The Students Economically Independent, Our College Motivates The Students To Adopt This Programmed Titled “Earn While You Learn”. Under This Programme, The Students Of Various Streams Not Only Financially Support Their Studies But Also Gain Practical Experience By Working On Different Fields Which Would Stand By Them In Their Later Career. This Helps The Students To Gain A Firsthand Experience Of Myriad Skills And Thereby Develop Their Self-Confidence And Personality. Accordingly, The Students Are Encouraged To Take Up Part-Time Jobs After Completing Their Regular Classes Or During Holidays Which Would Enhance Their Personal Rating At The Time Of Final Placements.

Session 2024-25

‘Asees Riti Riwaz’ Fashion Show

The Fashion Designing Department of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian, in collaboration with Earn While Learn Committee, IIC, and VLCC, organized a fashion show titled ‘Asees Riti Riwaz’ under the leadership of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur Brar. The event aimed to showcase students’ designs from a commercial perspective.

Dignitaries, including social workers, school principals, police officials, VLCC representatives, and students’ families, attended. The program began with a Shabad recital and a green welcome ceremony. Judges evaluated students’ handmade outfits in various categories, recognizing winners in One-Piece, Designer Collection, Top Round, Tie & Dye, Nightwear, Gown, Saree, Indo-Western, and Sustainable Fashion themes. Alumni and faculty members also participated, with prizes awarded for the Best Model Competition and a special Teachers’ Fashion Round.

The event promoted sustainability by encouraging the reuse of materials like jute, plastic, and old fabrics. Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur thanked the VLCC team, organizers, and guests, while Chairman Sardar Ravinder Singh Chak and the Educational Trust congratulated the Fashion Department team for their efforts, encouraging future initiatives.

     

Session 2024-25

Waste & Sustainability Committee in collaboration with Earn While Learn Cell under the aegis of IQAC organized an exhibition on Best Out of Waste (BOOW) on 17/03/25. This was a great initiative under the guidance of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur to encourage the students to create valuable products from waste materials, promoting sustainability, creativity and environmental responsibility.Students made things i.e. Pen holders from waste papers, decorative items from coconut shell, paper dustbin, gifts basket, pouches from waste clothes. The aim of this exhibition to promote sustainable waste management practices. Committee honoured first three students who make the best Items in which Esha (BSC III FD) stood Ist, Neha ( BSC III FD) 2nd, Komal (MA I Political Sci) and Gurleen Kaur (BSC III) owned third position respectively. 40 students participated in this. Committee members Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, Dr. Meetu, Mrs. Poonam Sharm, Mrs. Renu Gupta and other faculty members were present there.

 

Session 2022-23

EXHIBITION OF DIFFERENT PRODUCTS

Department Of Economics With The Collaboration By Earn While You Learn Scheme Organized An Exhibition. Rosewater, Handcraft Items, Daatun, Earthen Pot, Sawian, Handkerchief, Doll, Earthen Items, Jute Bags And Many More Items Was Children Made And Sold Themselves. Students Were Provided With A Good Employment Opportunity. 

2.  ORGANIZED THREE DAYS WORKSHOP ON FABRIC PAINTING AND  CRAFTDepartment Of Fashion Designing With The Collaboration By Earn While You Learn Scheme  Organized A Three Days Workshop On “Fabric_Painting_And_Craft The students Made Beautiful Items During This Workshop Students Got A Chance To Sell Whatever Work They Were Taught In The Workshop At The Exhibition. 

3. ORGANISED ONE DAY TRAINING PROGRAMMED ON THE TOPIC Unnat Bharat Abhiyan with the collaboration by Earn while you learn scheme of Dasmesh Girls College Chak Allah Baksh Mukerian cell in collaboration with NSS unit has organised “One day Training Programme” on the topic “Demonstration of Millets based Tiffin Recipes for students, faculty and staff.

 4. Rakhi Exhibition Organized by Fashion Designing Department with the collaboration by Earn while you learn scheme. College gives the students a good opportunity of earning and shows their talent.  

  Session 2021-22

1. Department Of Fashion Designing With The Collaboration By Earn While You Learn Scheme Organized Annual Exhibition. In The Exhibition, Students Displayed Their Handmade Products Like Designer Dresses, Kid Swear, Household Essentials, And Handcraft Items, Best Out Of Waste. 

2.  Our Students Of Music Department Got Chance To Perform And Earned From Jagran, Kirtan Jatha, And Musical Shows.

3. Department Of Fashion Designing Organized One Day Youth Business Fair Through Exhibition Cum Sales Activity In The Collaboration With IIC, UBA Earn While You Learn Scheme.
