Career Guidance & Placement Cell

The Career and Guidance cell has been set up in the college for the benefits of the students. The cell offers guidance to students regarding different path ways in higher education and other career opportunities apart from placement supports. Our focus is to provide learning/training opportunities in the area of academic, career and personal social development and to prepare students to meet their future challenges.

Session 2024-25

Career Guidance Cell of the Dasmesh Girls College under the patronage of Chairman S. Ravinder Singh Chak and under the guidance of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur organized a thought provoking “Workshop on Career and Competitive Exam Guidance” collaboration with the Mr. Sony Goyal organization “Prayaas” to empower the students on 13 March 2025. The esteemed guests Ms.Ashna Mishra, speaker ( Punjab 100), Mr. Rakesh Kumar,( District Employment Officer, Mr. Vikram Singh Young Professional motivated students to stay clear in their vision, seize better career opportunities and empower themselves through knowledge and awareness. Ms.Ashna Mishra guided students about the Punjab 100 scheme for the Preparation of CAT Exam. Mr. Rakesh Kumar suggested career opportunities under government scheme that students can pursue after their completion of higher education. Dr. Maninder Kaur, Ms. Shikha, members of Carrier Guidance and Placement Cell and faculty from Commerce department attended the programme.

AXIS BANK YOUNG BANKER PROGRAM
The Department of Business Administration, of Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian, successfully organized an insightful workshop on the "AXIS BANK YOUNG BANKER PROGRAM on March 8, 2025 for Students. The session was led by Mr. Narinder Salaria (Service Provider, NIIT Ltd/AXIS BANK), who shared valuable insights for career into the banking sector. This specialized program is a joint initiative by Axis Bank and NIIT, aims to equip young graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge for a thriving career in banking. To accomplish the Mission of NIIT is to skill the youth of the country, and provide theoretical expertise with hands-on exposure. The workshop, conducted under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur, proved to be highly productive
and informative. The Principal of the College appreciate the efforts of Dr.Sonia Chauhan ( HOD of CommerceDepartment), Mrs. Suman Devi (HOD of Business Administration), Mrs. Renu Gupta( HOD of Economics Department) and Organizing committee (Mrs.Surbhi Abrol, Mrs.Monica, Ms.Sushma Devi) for organizing the event and expressed sincere gratitude to the speaker for his valuable contribution.

Smart Investing: Maximizing Returns in Stock Trading and Mutual Funds

in Collaboration with IIC & Business Forum, Career Guidance and Placement Cell

A lecture on Trading and Mutual funds was conducted on 22-2-2025 for students, organized by PG Department of Commerce & Business Management, Dasmesh Girls College Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian . The session was led by Ms.Simran Pathania and Mrs.Priyanka in financial markets.The lecture covered the basics of Trading and Mutual funds, their types, benefits, risks, and investment strategies. The resource persons explained concepts like SIPs, NAV, and diversification, using real-life examples and case studies were shared to help students understand investment strategies and market trends. Students actively participated in the interactive session, asking questions and gaining insights into smart investing. An extension lecture was successfully conducted on under the valuable guidance of our esteemed Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur. The principal of the college congratulated the Dr. Sonia Chauhan (Head of the Department of Commerce and Managenent) vote of thanks to the speaker.

Dasmesh Girls College Chak Alla Baksh Mukerian is always striving for the all-round development of female students. Under this, placement drive was organized by Career Guidance and Placement Cell under the leadership of Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur with the support of ICICI Bank on dated 12/4/2024.

Session 2023-24

Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Dasmesh Girls College has organized a motivational lecture for students on dated 3 Nov 2023. The resource person was Ms. Ravneet who has cleared the PPSC (Civil Judge cum Judicial Magistrate) exam 2023 and got 14th rank in Punjab.

Career Advancement Strategies for Women in Higher Education

Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Dasmesh girls College has organised an awareness lecture for students of Government Senior Secondary School, Harse Kalota on the theme CAREER ADVANCEMENT STRATEGIES FOR WOMEN IN HIGHER EDUCATION dated on 6 October 2023. The purpose of the lecture to provide a broad and in-depth look at the field of carrier development as it applies to individuals involved in higher education activities. Through this activity the girl’s students must make well informed decisions about their academic journey. Mr. Gurdev Singh, Mrs. Rupinder Kaur, Mrs. Sneh Lata and Mrs. Parveen along with 35 girls students of the school attended this programme. Principal of the college Dr. Karamjit Kaur addressed the students and suggested innumerable career opportunities that students can pursue after their 10th and 12th. Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, HOD Department of Physical Education sheds the light upon sports opportunities provided by the college to Sport-students and how student can grow in the field of sports. Dr. Maninder Kaur, Coordinator of Career Guidance and Placement Cell successfully completed the programme with the help of PowerPoint presentation, interactive questions and answer session. She has imparted knowledge about various career options that girls’ students can pursue.

PG Department of Commerce and Management in collaboration with Business Forum, Career Guidance and placement cell organized An Extension lecture on“GOAL SETTING, PERSONAL EXCELLENCE AND CAREER COUNSELLING.

An educational institution’s work doesn’t end by just providing degrees to its Graduate and post Graduate students, along with this the institution should impart Knowledge about career guidance. so, that students become capable to choose their career after completing their graduation and post graduation. To ensure this PG Department of Commerce & Business Management, conducted an extension lecture on 04/02/2023 under the valuable guidance of respected principal Dr.Karamjit Kaur. This lecture delivered by Mr. Mandeep Dogra. He is MBA (marketing international business) with rich experience in marketing learning or 22year experience in corporate world at senior position in India and abroad. He is the founding director of “SHIKSHA LAKSHYA” founded in 2022. The principal of the college congratulated the organizing committee Dr.Sonia Chauhan(Head of the Department of Commerce and Management), Ms.Suman Devi(Assistant Professor) for conducting such informative session. Overall the lecture was very informative and all the students benefited from it regarding the career counseling.

Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Dasmesh Girls College organised a six days workshop on soft skill, English speaking, interview training and e -content conducted by Naandi Foundation -Mahindra Pride Classroom from 06-06-23 to 12-06-23 to create awareness about employment. Workshop Resource Person Ms. Anju Jain (Trainer, Mahindra Pride Classroom) informed the students about interview skills, interview opportunities, verbal and non-verbal communication in the workshop.
