The NSS volunteers of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian enthusiastically observed National Sports Day from their homes, as work-from-home arrangements are currently in place in the region due to the flood situation.
NSS volunteers Ms. Disha and Ms. Simran Kaur of Dasmesh Girls College, Mukerian successfully participated in the Capacity Building Programme on Youth Employability Skills held from 26th to 29th August 2025 at RGNIYD, Regional Centre, Chandigarh, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
This achievement was made possible through the collaboration of the NSS Unit and the Start-Up Cell of the College, under the coordination of Ms. Shikha Sharma.
Under the visionary guidance of our respected Principal Dr. Karamjit Kaur, the college continues to empower students with opportunities that enhance employability, leadership, and holistic development.
Day 1 (5th Aug): Tree Plantation in College Premises – Under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, NSS volunteers planted saplings across the campus to encourage environmental conservation.
Day 2 (6th Aug): Tree Plantation in Adopted Village – Volunteers conducted another plantation drive at Ramgarh Kullian, spreading awareness about greenery and sustainability.
Day 3 (7th Aug): Patriotic Rally on Azadi Ka Maha Utsav – A rally with slogans, placards, and community involvement highlighted national pride and the struggle for independence.
Day 4 (8th Aug): Poster Making & Wall Painting – A Poster Competition on “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and Independence Day themes was held with the Fine Arts Department. Volunteers also painted walls at DSP Office Mukerian and Rest House Mukerian with social and patriotic messages.
Special Event: NSS volunteers participated in an Online Quiz on the National Flag of India organized by the Ministry of India, enhancing their knowledge and respect for the tricolour.
The four-day program successfully fostered environmental responsibility, patriotic spirit, and civic engagement among students and the community.
